"Spies on the sands. Target: Spain" chronicles the untold story of a group of Spanish Republican Loyalists exiles at the service of U.S. Office of Strategic Services OSS during World War II. Enlisted and trained by the OSS in North Africa, the Spanish operatives landed on the coast of Andalucía and also infiltrated the garrison town of Melilla in the Spanish Protectorate of Morocco. Their mission was to gather military and political information and in case of at the time probable Nazi German invasion of the Iberian Peninsula warn General Mark Clark who commanded the USA 5Th Army. Their risky endeavour will become the most tragic and hushed up U.S.A. espionage operation throughout the war.

Through a rigorous study of the USA National Archives & Records Administration, the British National Archives, Spanish police and judicial summaries and the Spanish Communist Party Archives, together with the testimony of direct relatives of the agents and historians, this documentary reveals the unknown USA secret operations in Spain during World War II.
